Do you reap benefits of having a routine?

While some find routines quite enjoyable, others might be struggling with building them up or sticking to them. Routine is a collection of habits you do on a daily basis. What we should not forget is that we are all unique, and routines followed by others would not be perfect for us. But having a routine is quite common among people who are well organized and succeeding in their lives.

However, you are not too late to start building up routines, as you can always use the trial-and-error method when trying out new things. It is always good to remember how useful they are to your life when you feel overwhelmed by them.

These are the routines I find quite helpful, as they usually bring structure to every aspect of my life.

1) Getting up early

2) Making bed.

2) Bedtime routine

Here are some tips to follow if you find routines  very hard to follow.

1) Post the steps of the routine for easy reference.

If you want to prepare dinner after you come back home, write a list and keep it somewhere you can easily see it. Even you can post a reminder of what you find hard in any part of a routine, so you cannot easily ignore it.

2) Start it small.

If you find sticking to a routine daunting, do not try to create a routine for your whole life. Even picking one, like making the bed, can make your life easy if done regularly.

3) Transform your perspective.

Having a routine does not mean that you have to change the way you live your life. Do not force yourself to stick to a routine that you find uncomfortable. Instead,  figure out the habits that you usually put off or find boring and  try to come up with a creative approach to tackle them.
